ANYA CORAZON AND GWEN STACY VS PARALLEL-X (RYONA)

The party as announced had been a failure. Gwen and Anya were expecting it, they would have prefered not to be there, but on the other side they didn't want to disrespect their classmate Peter Parker. Gwen Stacy and Anya Corazon both were students at Empire State University where they specialize in biochemistry. The first was a beautiful, sensitive and intelligent blonde girl, she was the daughter of a former police captain. The second was an equally attractive girl of Mexican descent, passionate about football; it is no coincidence in the free time often made the referee.

They tried to liven up the evening: they put some danceable music by removing that boring jazz lounge so loved by Peter, but the other four present were apparently not in the mood; organized on the spot  a couple of group games, a karaoke: all failures.

The shortage of alcohol certainly did not help. In short, the result is that after two endless hours they were all sitting on the sofa staring at their cell phones, some of whom hadn't even got asleep.

The two girls warmly hoped that the time had come to go home. Or at least that something relevant happened. Actually something happend, but they would have preferred to remain bored on the sofa for other hours.

Anya was checking the weather, Gwen scrolled through the instagram feed when the screens on their phones began to become blurry. The same happened for the room around. A few seconds later they saw themselves catapulted to another place: an absurd place, which did not seem to exist on Earth.

Around them was a huge expanse of white marble tiles, above them a blue sky, nothing else. The two friends looked stunned and frightened. Then they saw the figure of a person approaching in the distance. When that was in front of them they felt a great relief. It was Spiderman, or Peter. They were the only ones who knew that their partner had a double life and was also a well-known superhero.

"Good morning girls, you were getting bored at the party, weren't you?" he said. Gwen and Anya laughed embarrassed. "What are you saying ?! We were having a great time ..." they lied. "Rather, do you have any idea where this is?" The fact that there was a powerful superhero with them reassured them. But the situation was equally absurd. "Of course, it's a world that I created." Spiderman answered as if nothing had happened. They were incredulous. They thought he was joking. "Seriously Peter ... this isn't the time to joke." He didn't answer. Then he moved. They understood that he was about to launch a spider web.

They turned to find out who they were headed against. Instead a few moments later they were completely wrapped in white canvas. They could not see that  but they also felt that they no longer had shoes on their feet. "Peter what the hell ... wait, you're not Peter, are you?" Anya asked in a chilled tone. The alleged Spiderman only shook his head.

Meanwhile, the "cocoon" was tightening, pressing hard on the girls' bodies. "Please, that's enough, you're hurting us!" Gwen yelled. The man immediately loosened his grip. "What do you want from us? Let us go!" they said in chorus with a voice almost broken by tears. "I need your pain," he replied seraphic.

And so it was that the cobwebs that enveloped the girls generated powerful electrical discharges. They immediately reacted by screaming in pain.

Three minutes later the set changed. Gwen and Anya were now in a dark room. They were immobilized and seated in a weird station, on their heads they had a kind of helmet connected to a strange machine. Still dazed and aching, Gwen managed to recognize the architect entirely. "Doctor Octopus, damn it! You knew you were behind all this," he exclaimed. "You're wrong, my dear." He pushed a button and the machine started torturing Anya.

It generated a mysterious but very powerful energy. With one lever he brought the intensity to the maximum. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH!"

Gwen couldn't bear to see her friend suffer like that. "I swear I'll kill you, leave her alone, do you understand ?!" Gwen yelled at Doctor Octopus, but he didn't bat an eye.

At one point he decided it was enough and went on to torture Gwen.

The two woke up the next day in a hospital room. After a few moments of uncertainty they understood that it had not been a nightmare. Peter went to see them and they spoke. They confronted each other. He understood immediately what had happened.

Parallel-X's name had been around for a while in the superhero club. A year had passed between the first attack on Shadowcat and the second on Poison Ivy. Between Poison Ivy and Iron Man a month. He had waited only a week for the fourth attack this time. It seemed that the modus operandi had substantially changed. If the year before he had lent his side to a counterattack, now he did not glimpse weaknesses. But above all, what was his purpose? Where did he come from? How did hechoose his victims? Who would have been the next? It was worrying that this time he had not thrown himself against superheroes but against civilians. The various superhero associations had made every effort to keep the news from spreading among the population, but if the fact had repeated itself, it would have been increasingly difficult to keep the story hidden.
