FUTURAMA: UNFORTUNATE DELIVERY (SHORT RYONA STORY)

The delivery to the planet Polidor had taken an unexpected turn for Fry, Leela, Amy and Bender. Spotting the crime of housebreaking in fact was not planned.

Let's recap. The four worked for Planet Express, a company specializing in space shipments. Going to the address of the recipient, however, they had found a beautiful house, without traces of the owner and above all open! Instead of going back sadly they had instead decided to occupy the house and enjoy its comforts. This story had been going on for four days now and they had now convinced themselves that the owner would never show up again. 

It was about 6 pm and it was pouring outside, as it had been since they had arrived. Fry and Leela were arguing as usual for trivial reasons when Amy announced, in general disinterest, that she was going to take a shower. Bender, a small alcoholic robot, had apparently disappeared, but no one seemed to have noticed.

They totally ignored what was going on on Polidor. A robot rebellion was taking place against the inhabitants of the planet. The owner of the villa, a wealthy and powerful politician, had run away in a hurry fearing the worst. The robot front was in fact close to victory. Their strategy and intellectual capacity were insurmountable obstacles for the Podoresians. The constant floods were because of them. They had released a substance into the atmosphere that favored the gathering of clouds which in turn generated thunderstorms. The leaders of the revolt hacked the robot software all around the planet to control their "minds"  making them capable of storing the electricity of lightning, a deadly weapon against opponents. A giant antenna radiated gamma rays, corrupting every android. Bender was among them.

The latter presented himself at home. He found Fry and Leela still intent on quarreling and Amy, out of the shower, all three in the living room. He stared at them with a grim look, which collided with the harmless and funny aspect he had always had. His colleagues looked at him perplexed.

The antenna placed on Bender's head was crossed by a small lightning bolt. Then a violent lightning strike struck the three unfortunate. Their screams of pain announced that the era of robots had begun on Polidor.
